After a year-long restoration process, the National Archives asked for an interactive exhibit to accompany the only copy of the Magna Carta that permanently resides in the United States. The exhibit allows visitors to zoom in and explore the Magna Carta to see key highlights, as well as some historical notes related to the creation of the document. It also allows visitors to explore the connections between Magna Carta and American legal history by directly comparing features of Magna Carta with the charters of American freedom: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Using a multi-touch zoom and pan feature, users can easily take a closer look at each document, as well as read translations/transcripts of each.
The application was created in Flash, and written in AS3 using RobotLegs (MVC).
